Kose Softymo Mineral Wash Pore Clean

Contents: 30g
Price: HK$35.00
Local of Purchase: Sasa

Ingredients: Royal Jelly Extract, Brown Sugar Extract, Glycerin, Red Algae and Green Algae and a whole bunch of other things that I can't read (it's written in Japanese)

I've never really disliked any particular face wash, because I always remove my makeup with a makeup remover and only use a face wash afterwards. As long as it cleanses my face without breaking me out, I'm happy with it.

Kose Softymo face wash comes with 3 formula, and I got the one for oily and congested skin, it contains some tiny beads and it claims to be micro fine scrubbing particles that will deep clean skin and pores. Honestly I didn't like this product, my skin didn't felt cleanse after using it. I think this issue is only personal, because my husband has used up the whole tube without complain, but I definetly won't be repurchasing.

Kose Softymo Renew Wash

Contents: 120g
Price:HK$35.00
Local of Purchase: Sasa

According to Sasa's webpage:

Kose Softymo Renew Wash is a super cleanser contains the newly developed ingredient CEM (cleansing element with moisture). It removes dirts effectively while preserves skin moisture. The new formula also build a more refined & rich lather, while covers your skin thoroughly during cleansing yet it prevents loss of absorbed nourishment. Organic (growth) chamomile extracts ingredients for extra nourishment with a hint of refreshing floral fragrance.

My Opinion:

If you have been following my monthly finished products articles, you might have noticed that I go thru facial cleanser really fast, and that's because I usually share my cleanser with my husband, and so far he has never complained, even those cleanser that I didn't like, he'll finish it off for me.

I was really surprise when he told me that he didn't like this cleanser, and was complaining that it didn't lather and it was really hard to rinse off. When I've tried out this product, I just knew that he was using way too much product, for this cleanser you only need a tiny bit of product and it will lather up really well, but since educating my husband about skin care products is basically impossible, I just gave up and decided to use it up myself, since I've actually like it, it cleanses without drying my skin.

I had it for nearly six month, and have been using it every morning, but I still did not manage to finish it, this just prove how little product you need for each wash

Sekkisei Emulsion

Contents:140ml (4.7oz)
Price:HK$292

According to Kose's webpage:

A quick absorbing, lightweight moisturizer with a highly emollient formula that brightens and softens skin. Contains Vitamin C to reduce melanin production and prevents inflammation, freckles and aging spots.

Suppresses melanin production to prevent sunspots. After lotion, apply 1 or 2 pumps over the skin.

Herbal Extracts: Elecampane Extract, Coix Seed Extract, Angelica Extract, Melothria Extract, Moutan Bark Extract

My Opinion:

I've use the Sekkisei Lotion for ages and love it, so this summer it has occured to be to try out their Emulsion as well.

I was so confident with this product that I didn't even consider getting a smaller bottle, and went for the big one (HUGE MISTAKE)

This emulsion claims that it absorbs instantly, but it took ages to absorb into my skin, IMO worse than a cream.

I've been using it for about a week, and notice that white heads are all over my face, once I've stopped using it, my skin was back to normal. I guess that this product is just not for me.

Sekkisei White Powder Wash

Contents: 100g / 3.5oz
Price: HK$205

According to Sekkisei's webpage:
A foaming powder wash that effectively brightens the complexion with each use, while restoring skin’s natural moisture barrier and preventing inflammation.
On a wet palm, place powder about the size of a quarter. Using lukewarm water, work into lather. Wash face and rinse well.
Herbal Extracts: Peony Root Extract, Perilla Extract, Coix Seed Extract, Angelica Extract
My opinion:
This is my all time favorite summer facial cleanser, and true to its word, it does brighten your face with each use. I think because it comes in a powder form, it does slightly exfoliate your skin with each wash.
This is only my summer favorite because after I wash my face it does feel a bit dry, but since my skin is sort of oily during summer, this is a great product.

My Breakouts Culprit

Kose – Softymo Collagen Cleansing Cream

I can’t believe that it took me 3 whole weeks to figure out that this was the culprit for my breakouts…..

This is one of those makeup remover and cleanser 2 in 1 produdct (it is color and fragrance free, and it has collagen in it), and most importantly I always go over it with a foam cleanser. It has never occurred to me that a cleanser might actually cause breakouts, I’ve tried countless cleansers and never once did I break out because of it…..

I’ve got a new makeup remover today, Coreana Perfect Clean Cleansing Lotion, it says that it cleanses make up and impurities delicately with Multi Fruit Cocktail, which is a bunch of fruit extracts like pomegranate, kiwi, apple, lemon and grapes…..

I have never been choosy with cleansers, but I’ve paid nearly USD$30 for it, so it better work!
