Boots luxurious soft intensive foot moisturising cream

Contents: 120ml
Price 400 Baht (got this from thailand)

According to the package:

This rich, non-greasy cream contains jojoba oit to moisturise, added vitamin A and vitamin E to smooth and condition your skin, whilst essential oils and menthol soothe and refresh your skin.

Direction:
Apply generously to clean, dry feet and massage until absorbed.

My Opinion:
I've got seriously dry feet and I think that's the consequence of neglecting my feet for over 20 years.

I've actually found the best foot cream, and that's NIVEA, but I just keep on trying new stuff hoping that I'll find something better (no such luck yet....)

The boots foot cream is ok, smells great, absorbs really fast, but it only provides enough moisture for my feet during summer, it does not work for me during winter time.

I think this product is no longer available (I got mine from thailand last year), the new version looks like this:

CND Stickey Base Coat

Contents: 9.8ml or .33 fl oz

According to CND's webpage:
WHAT IT IS:
A soft, sticky 3-free base coat for healthy nails.
WHAT IT DOES:
Anchors Colour to the nail to prevent peeling and chipping.
WHY YOU NEED IT:
• Improves nail Colour wearability.• Helps prevent surface staining of natural nails and enhancements.• 3-free formula does not contain Formaldehyde,Toluene or Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP).
My Opinion:
This really does help with the chipping, but if you are using a sheer polish don't use it as a base coat, because it has a green tint and it will affect your nail polish color.

SkinFood Aloe Sun BB Pact

Contents: 14g
Shade: #1 Bright Skin Color
Price: HKD215

Product Description:
A sun protection BB pact with water emulsion formula. As a simple solution for base makeup, its refreshing feeling and satin finish enhance its wear, creating a more natural and translucent skin tone.
Aloe Sun BB pact comes in a round shaped airless/airtight container. After turning the lid counterclockwise, open the lid and place an adequate amount on the puff. Then, pat the wider areas of the face and evenly spread out onto the entire face
My opinion:
If you guys read my review on skinfood bb cream, you would know that I'm not a huge friend of skingfood bb cream, mainly because their shades are just not right for me.
Anyway, I was persuaded again by the saleslady to get this (I got this ages ago, and I don't think this is available anymore), and was told that I could keep this in my bag and use it for touch up.
Conclusion: wrong shade and never use it....

Kuan Yuan Lian Sponge Cucumber Mask

My Opinion:
I had this kit for nearly 4 months, and I didn't want to write a review until I was absolutely sure that I like it.This was expensive and I didn't wanted to mislead anyone into getting it.

If you have been following my blog, you would have noticed that I've initially bought the Pretika SonicDermabrasion Facial Brush, which I've read reviews comparing it with the clarisonic and since the Pretika was alot cheaper I got it. Unfortunatley Pretika's brush head is way to harsh for my skin and I've to give it away.

I did some research before purchasing it and was debating whether I should get the mia or plus, and I've end up getting the plus mainly because of the timer. I use it in my shower and with the timer it reminds me the time to move the brush into other places.

Anyway, after using it for about 3 months I know that i won't be able to survive without it. It really cleanses my skin, improve it's texture and absorption of skin care product. I've break out less and I actually feel incomplete if i don't wash my face with it.

I only use it in the evening, and I still need to exfoliate my skin once per week (note that I usually exfoliate 3x per week before using clarisonic).

Regarding the brush head, I got 2 of it, sensitive and gently skin, both seems to work fine for me. Note that you have to change your bursh head every 3 months.

Valesence Acne Lotion

Contents: 200ml or 6.8 fl.oz.
Price:HKD150

According to the Package:
Swiss brand Valesence, is the research and development personnel who is engaged in the research and development medicine cosmetology product profession by the multi-positions, develops after many year accumulation experience.
It is made from the latest active cell elements and extracted of dionezed waterd, arbutus, infrared rays liquid, bird's nest essence, lactic acid and collagen, etc.

My opinion:
I have monthly breakouts and was recommended to get this by my esthetician. Since it appears that none of my previous acne products seems to be working I got myself a bottle.

You are suppose to soak this in a cotton wool and leave in on top of your break out for 10 minutes. It does seems to speed up the drying process and I think that this is a very good substitute for the Mario Badescu Drying Lotion, since it was alot cheaper.

I've tried placing this around my cheeks where the pores are larger, and it does seems to shrink them.

I've try to locate this product in the net, but it appears that this is a salon product where you can't find it anywhere else....

Pond's Cold Cream

Contents: 9.5og or 269g
Price: HK$58

According to Pond's webpage:

The cool classic that removes make-up as it thoroughly deep cleans.

What does it do?

The classic rich cream deep cleans down to the pores to remove even the most stubborn make-up and impurities, while leaving skin soft and smooth.

How does it work?

Cold cream cleans thoroughly and gently, without stripping or drying and without harsh detergents. It'll add essential moisture to dry skin, without leaving residue.

Essential Features:

  • Hypoallergic

  • Suitable for sensitive skin

  • Won't clog pores

  • Dermatologists tested

How to use:

Use everyday as part of your cleansing routine. Smooth generously on the skin with the fingertips. Gently remove with cotton wool, or warn flannel for a truly deep cleanse. For extra freshness, rinse off with warm water.

Ingredients:

Paraffinum Liquidum, Aqua, Cera Alba, Ceresin, Sodium Hydroxide, Carbomer, Butylene Glycol, DMDM Hydantoin, Iodopropynyl, Butylcarbamate, BHT, Citronellol, Geraniol, Limonene, Benzyl Alcohol, Benzyl Benzoate, Hydroxycitronellal, Linalool, Eugenol.

My opinion:

I've been using this as a makeup remover for about a month and it does remove my makeup, but I'm not sure what else I was suppose to expect from this product.... (there was not break outs)

The only reason why I've decided to give this a try was because I've recently read an article about Kelly Minogue saying that her wrinkle-free skin is down to using Pond's Cold Cream, and if you are interested in the article here's the path:

I know that I'm being shallow to be suck in by celebrities claims, but come on, this is very affordable (alot cheaper than what I've been using), although I didn't find it devastating, I've got nothing to complain and I think I'll keep on using it mainly because is cheap and it does remove my makeup without irritating my skin.

Please note that I always wash my face with a foam cleanser after I remove my makeup because I find this product greasy.

Conditioner ingredients:

Water/Aqua/Eau, Cetyl, Alcohol, dimethicone, Behentrimonium Chloride, Cyclopentasiloxane, Amodimethicone, Passiflora Incarnata Flower Extract, Magnolia Acuminata Bark Extract, Lycium Barbarum Fruit Extract, Ribes Nibrum (Black currant) Fruit Extract, Zizyphus Jujuba Fruit Extract, Hydrolyzed Soy Protein, C11-15 Pareth-7, Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Glycerin, Laureth-9, Benzophenone-4, Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane, Citric Acid, Poloxamer 184, Tetrasodium EDTA, Trideceth-12, Methtylparaben, Yellow 5 (CL19140)

My Opinion:

This product came recommended by my stylist, because I was complainning that my hair color was fading really fast.

I'm not sure if I've mentioned before, but I have severely damaged hair, but I hate hair care products that leaves my hair sticky or greasy (I know that there is a contradiction in here), but that's just me.

Back to the product, the color does seems to stay longer after using it, but it does not provide the hydration or nourishment that my hair needs. This might work for someone with healthy color treated hair (is it possible to have healthy color treated hair?)

Neutrogena Deep Clean Blackhead Eliminating Warming Treatment

Contents: 8 tubes x 5g
Price: HK$99.9

Description:

Neutrogena DEEP CLEAN Blackhead Eliminating Warming Treatment instantly warms up to 40°C to open pores. The BHA Blackhead Fighting Complex then penetrates into pores to promote the removal of dirt, oil, and even stubborn blackheads. The Cedarwood extract and moisturizer help strengthen the skin’s natural water and oil balance, and prevent new blackheads from forming with continuous use.

Dermatogist and allergy tested.

Oil free and non-comedogenic.

How to use it:

Cleanse your face, leave the face wet. Dispense the product to the tip of your finger and apply immediately & directly to face focusing on blackhead prone areas. Gently massage for 20 seconds then rinse off. Use 2-3 times a week for best results.

My Opinion:

I love warming treatments, and I've tried a few in the markets, my favorite would be lancome, and if you are on a budget, Boots is another good one. I wouldn't recommend neutrogena, because this would only warm up for about 2 seconds (what's the point to massage 20 seconds if it'll only stay warm for 2 seconds?)

The Plump Sexxxy Lipcolor uses the clinically-proven plumping and firming effects of a patented, groundbreaking tri-peptide technology, said to naturally fill and plump lips instantly upon contact with the body's natural water. My Opinion:

This is actually the first lip plumping product that I've ever used, and I'd liked the effect, although I didn't really like the shade. I think I have 2 more lip plumping lipsticks somewhere, I'll try to locate it and give it a try

Mario Badescu Drying Lotion

Contents: 1oz or 30ml
Price:HK$295

According to Mario Badescu webpage:

Benefits:
The Drying Lotion is a fast acting, effective acne spot treatment. Formulated with salicylic acid, calamine and other quick-drying ingredients, this product will shrink ugly whiteheads virtually overnight while you sleep. While other acne spot treatments can irritate and dry delicate or sensitive skin, this product is safe and effective for all skin types.

How to Use: Before bed, after cleansing, toning and moisturizing apply a dab of lotion directly on the whitehead using a cotton swab. Do not rub in. Let it dry and rinse off in the morning. DO NOT shake the bottle and apply only the pink sediment on the skin.

Beauty Tip: Great for back acne and breakouts on the chest. The Drying Lotion will also take the itch out of mosquito bites fast!

Ingredients: Isopropyl Alcohol,Deionized Water (Aqua), Calamine, Camphor, Colloidal Sulfur, Salicylic Acid,Glycerine, Zinc Oxide, Titanium Dioxide, Talc

My opinion:

I've been using this for several years (this is actually my 4th bottle), especially on cystic acne. It won't clear your face overnight, but it does speed up the clearing process.

It has always worked for me, until recently it has stopped working, and I'm now searching for a substitute....

Palgantong Make-Up Theatrical Powder

Contents: 25g
Shade:Original Beige
Price: HK$118

According to Palgantong's webpage:

In 1978, LUDWIG LEICHNER of German created the professional cosmetic for the 1st time in the world. Palgantong re-established the cosmetic through re-blending a prescription for Asian skin with the inherited prescription and skill of the cosmetic (130 years’ tradition).
As introducing in Professional make-up field, such as Korean TV broadcasts, in 1989, professional make-up artists had started to use the theatrical powder, alias . This is very well known product to entertainers. Since 1999, this, the best hit product, has been selling to non-entertainers as well.
Also, it recorded 600 million selling products from 2002 to 2006 in critical Japan cosmetic market. Therefore, it was selected as and secures the 1st selling position in Japan powder section. This is internationally approved production power, the Theatrical powder.

  • Slimming Effect : Make your face look slimmer with a three-dimension effect caused by the light reflection

  • Long Lasting Effect : Strong to water or sweat. Do not make strain easily. Excellent long lasting functional powder

  • Blooming Effect : The scattering effect of light scattering power creates bright and splendid skin.S

  • uper Hydrate Effect : Maintain the moisture all day long preventing moisture evaporation, Create silky skin

My Opinion:

If you take the price into consideration, this is a very good quality loose powder, very finely milled, and compatible with higher end products.

The reason why this isn't my favorite loose powder is because it has a tint and is not entirely translucent. But I still like to pair it with my BB cream. Not my favorite, but definetly on the top of my list.

  • Blend all over hair, especially into the ends which suffer most damage
  • Style hair by grouping into small bundles to create a glossy, and compact wavy style.
My Opinion:
Using this product was my worst nightmare....
The first time that I've used this product, I've ignored the instruction and used it just like any other hair styling product. I usually need 4-6 pumps of hair styling product, so I went thru my usual styling procedure (I do that at 8 in the morning). By 10, my hair was super greasy! it looks as if I've never washed my hair for a week (thrust me, it was scary), and I had to pull back my hair into a pony tail to disguise it....
Next trial, I have follow the instruction and stay with 2 pumps, I've also avoided my roots (just in case). The effect was slightly better, but still felt greasy. By the end of the day I was having allergies around my neck area.....
I'm not going to give this product another chance, it is going to the bin, and it's still in my possession because I wanted to write a review about it.
I love most of the Mandom skincare products, and I just wonder how can this company do so well with skincare while it sucks with hair care....
I've actually tried a few Mandom hair care products (reviews coming up) that really disappointed me, and I'm sure that I'm not going buy any more Mandom hair care products.....

Mac Select MoistureCover

Contents:5ml or 0.17us fl oz
Shade:NC20 & NW30
Price: HK$135 @

NC20

NW30

Left: Nc20 Right: NW30

According to Mac's webpage:

A luxuriously blendable moisturizing concealer in a tube with built-in doe-foot applicator. Goes on exactly where you want it: blends in for a natural satin-smooth ultra-moisturized finish. Layers up for added coverage. Line-softening, skin-perfecting: The Pros’ “select” for under-eyes and delicate skin. Wide shade range provides soft, natural camouflage.
Ingredients:

Water/Aqua/Eau, Dimethicone, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Cyclopentasiloxane, Glycerin, Zinc Stearate, Isononyl Isononanoate, Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Sorbitan Isostearate, Caprylyl Dimethicone Ethoxy Glucoside, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter) Extract, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Wax, Tocopherol, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Squalane, Hexylene Glycol, Sodium Chloride, Silica, Potassium Sorbate, Sorbitol, Hexadecene, Triisostearin, Glucose, Fructose, Dextrin, Sucrose, Phytosteryl Isostearate, Alanine, Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Hydrogenated Palm Glycerides, Hydrogenated Palm Kernel Glycerides, Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil, Aspartic Acid, Glutamic Acid, Urea, Methylparaben, Propylparaben

My opinion:

I love the texture of this concealer, I mainly use it under my eyes, and it doesn't cake or dry out my under eye area.

I have this in 2 shades, NW30 because the sales lady recomended it (totally wrong color), and I had to get the nc20 to mix it with.

Apart from the wrong shade, I love this product

AquaLabel White Up Base Clear

Contents: 30ml
Shade: clear
Price: HK$88

According to Aqualabel's webpage:

AQUALABEL White Up Base Spf25 Pa +

Reduce dull skin, increase radiance and lucent
Available in 2 shades:
1. Natural : to remove redness
2.Clear : to remove dull and yellowish skin.

My opinion:

For those of you who are not aware of this brand, this is actually a lower end product from Shiseido and you would find it in Watsons or Mannings.

If you have tried this product, you might have notice that your tube comes in 40ml instead of 30ml, that's because I got mine in Taiwan instead of HK.

Although I've got this in shade 2 clear, it actually comes in a bluish greenish tone, and it does even out my skintone. Since it comes with SPF25, I like using it in the summer for some extra sun protections (note I still wear my sunscreen religiously). This product does not leave your skin greasy or oily.

Overall, I do like this product.
