My Opinion:

Recently I had an allergic reaction, and was put on steroids for 3 days, and since then, I've been having some  major break outs. It's been 2 weeks and my face is still covered with angry red marks.

I got this product to cover those marks, and so far it isn't working, this is dry and thick, and whenever I use it on a spot it just emphasis those marks. No matter how I blend it, it is still very obvious on my skin and it clings on dry patches.

NYX Concealer in a Jar

Contents: 0.25oz (7g)
Price: US$4.50@
Local of Purchase: Cherry Culture

Shade: Beige

Shade: Yellow

According to NYX's webpage:

NYX’s Concealer Jars have been reformulated with a moisture-rich, emollient formula designed to conceal discoloration, dark circles, blemishes and provide longer-lasting, full coverage. Applied with a brush, the concentrated concealer slides on like silk. Use the lavender for sallow skin, green to hide reddish imperfections, yellow for under-eye darkness and orange for under-eye darkness for those with olive skin tones. Available in 12 shades

INGREDIENTS: Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Mineral Oil, BHT, Microcrystalline Wax, Nylon-66,
Octyldodecyl Myristate, Silica, Butylparaden, Fragrance, Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Ceresin, Dipentaerythrityl Hexahydroxystearate/ Hexarosinate, Polyethylene, Sorbitan Sequioleate, Tocopheryl Acetate. MAY CONTAIN: Titanium Dioxide, Iron Oxides, Chromium Oxide Greens, Ultramarines.

My Opinion:
I've got this concealer for awhile, but found the texture to be too thick for my taste and left it on my makeup graveyard. Recently I've watched a video from Wayne about "5 different ways to apply concealer", and have try it out with this product.

I found that this concealer works best with the wet stippling brush method, because it sheers out the concealer, but since I've got serious genetics circles, I had to use the yellow one to correct and the beige one to conceal. I've finally found a way to make this concealer work, but I'm not crazy about it.

Giorgio Armani - Master Corrector

Shade: 2 Orange
Contents: 4.4ml or 0.14 fl oz
Price: HK$230

According to Giorgio Armani's Webpage:

Corrective concealer in four color-balancing shades designed to target specific complexion concerns. Exclusive micro-fil technology allows for targeted correction, visibly concealing imperfections while light-reflecting pearls impart a halo of light imparting a seamless, flawless facial canvas.

Corrective concealer shades include:
  1. pink: counteracts sallow, dull skin and effectively corrects yellow and olive pigmentation.
  2. orange: targets olive or darker skin tones to conceal under-eye circles, freckles, dark spots and hyper-pigmentation.
  3. yellow: balances pink skin tones, brightens dull skin, conceals red-marks, pinkish blemishes and under-eye circles.
  4. green: tones down redness in skin, conceals small blemishes and blotchiness induces by rosacea or skin irritation.
My Opinion:
If you have been following my blog you might have notice that I'm nuts about concealer and correctors, and I've tried my share of products.

I would highly recommend this product if you are like me, with genetic dark eye circles. It is in orange and really neutralises all darkness in your undereye area, and since it comes in a liquid texture, it will not emphasis your lines or dry out your undereye area.

The only downside about this product is the impossibility to wear it alone, you have to top it with a flesh color concealer, otherwise your whole undereye area will look orangy, which looks kind of weird.

Bobbi's secret to the beauty universe. This kit includes Creamy Concealer on top and Sheer Finish Loose Powder on bottom to set concealer for long-lasting wear. (Concealer .06 oz./ 1.7 g, Powder .03 oz./ 8 g). Available in a range of 14 shades.

US$32 for .21oz/5.9g

My Opinion:
This corrector and concealer duo is basically the only product that i can use in the winter to cover my genetic dark circles. I'm still trying to find something with better coverage and that it won't crease, but up till today, this is still the best that I could find. Please note that I'm not entirely satisfy with this duo (it creases slightly and it doesn't entirely cover my dark circles), but I just haven't discover anything better.....
