Body Sorbets Moisturizer

Scent: Fuji Green Tea
Contents: 200ml/6.75 us fl oz)
Price: HK$149.00

According to The BodyShop's webpage:

Give your skin fresh hydration while detoxing body and soul with the crisp and refreshing scent of Fuji Green Tea™ Body Sorbet. Our cool sorbet texture instantly melts into skin for a frosty burst of fresh moisture.

Ingredients:
Aqua/Water/Eau (Solvent), PEG-8 (Humectant), Glycerin (Humectant), Butylene Glycol (Humectant), Isododecane (Emollient), PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil (Surfactant), Sodium Acrylates Crosspolymer-2 (Absorbent), Phenoxyethanol (Preservative), Parfum/Fragrance (Fragrance Ingredient), Hydrogenated Tetradecenyl/Methylpentadecene (Viscosity Controlling Agent), Ethylhexylglycerin (Skin Conditioning Agent), Mel/Honey/Miel (Humectant), Sesamum Indicum Seed Oil/Sesamum Indicum (Sesame) Seed Oil (Emollient), Carbomer (Stabiliser/Viscosity Modifier), Linalool (Fragrance Ingredient), Sodium Hydroxide (pH Adjuster), Limonene (Fragrance Ingredient), Benzophenone-3 (Ultraviolet Light Absorber), Xanthan Gum (Viscosity Modifier), Trisodium Ethylenediamine Disuccinate (Chelating Agent), Pentaerythrityl Tetra-Di-t-Butyl Hydroxyhydrocinnamate (Antioxidant), Disodium EDTA (Chelating Agent), Silica (Absorbent), Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice (Skin Conditioning Agent), Geraniol (Fragrance Ingredient), Citral (Fragrance Ingredient), Coumarin (Fragrance Ingredient), Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract (Skin Conditioning Agent), Citric Acid (pH Adjuster), Sodium Benzoate (Preservative), Potassium Sorbate (Preservative), CI 19140/Yellow 5 (Colorant), CI 42090/Blue 1 (Colorant).

My Opinion:

This is my 3rd tube of The Body Shop's Body Sorbets, and in terms of moisturizing this stuff really sucks, but I just love the scent, and it stays on for the whole morning.

I had Satsuma and Fuji Green Apple and they both smell amazing, so I guess I'll keep on repurchasing it until fall, because that's the time where my body needs some real moisturizer.

According to Body Shop's webpage:

This soap-free shower gel contains zesty satsuma essential oil and has a refreshing citrus scent.
  • Lather-rich
  • Refreshing citrus scent
Ingredients: Aqua (Water) (Solvent/Diluent), Sodium Laureth Sulfate (Surfactant), Glycerin (Humectant), Cocamidopropyl Betaine (Surfactant), Cocamide DEA (Surfactant), Coco-Glucoside (Surfactant), PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil (Emulsifier), Benzyl Alcohol (Preservative), Parfum (Fragrance), Phenoxyethanol (Preservative), Glycine soja (Soybean Oil) (Emollient/Skin Conditioner), Citrus nobilis (Mandarin Orange Oil) (Fragrance), Methylparaben (Preservative), PEG-55 Propylene Glycol Oleate (Surfactant), Propylene Glycol (Humectant), Benzophenone-4 (Sunscreen), Limonene (Fragrance Ingredient), Hexyl Cinnamal (Fragrance Ingredient), Disodium EDTA (Chelating Agent), Citral (Fragrance Ingredient), Butylparaben (Preservative), Ethylparaben (Preservative), Isobutylparaben (Preservative), Propylparaben (Preservative), Citrus reticulata (Fragrance Ingredient), Linalool (Fragrance Ingredient), Citrus dulcis (Orange Oil) (Fragrance/Essential Oil), Sodium Dehydroacetate (Preservative), Citronellol (Fragrance Ingredient), Geraniol (Fragrance Ingredient), CI 15510 (Colour), CI 15985 (Colour).

My Opinion:

This is my favorite body wash of all time, and I think I already went thru 3 bottles of these. I'm in love with the scent and I always have a bottle of this in my shower. This smells exactly like mandarin (the fruit).

I've got everything from the satsuma series in the body shop, including the EDT, but I'm afraid that I didn't like any of the other products from this line, only the body wash is a keeper.

The Body Shop Cranberry Joy Hand Cream

Contents: 30ml / 1 us fl oz
Price: HK$149.00 (this came in a set of 3)

A delicately fragranced light cream moisturiser for hands. Apply liberally and rub into skin. Contains Community Fair Trade cocoa butter. Available in Vanilla Bliss and Ginger Sparkle.

My Opinion:

This is a limited edition scent that I got on a X'mas set back in 2012 and never got around using it. As I've mentioned inumerous time that I'm on a low buy, so I'm finally digging into my stash and start using things up.

The set came with 3 deluxe sample size hand creams, and I'd already reviewed the vanilla hand cream. The scent of the Cranberry Hand Cream was even stronger than the vanilla, but it was not as sweet as the vanilla. It has the same thick texture, but this one seems to absorbs faster. Overall, I've liked this hand cream and might consider repurchasing if it comes out again this X'mas.

The Body Shop Almond Conditioning Hand Wash

Price: 2 for HK$139.00
Contents: 250ml

According to the body shop's webpage:

This soap-free hand wash conditions while it cleanses. It contains sweet almond oil.
  • Soap-free
  • For all skin types
  • Sweet almond scent
Ingredients: Aqua (Solvent/Diluent), Sodium Laureth Sulfate (Surfactant), Cocamidopropyl Betaine (Surfactant), Glycerin (Humectant), Acrylates Copolymer (Stabiliser), Sodium Chloride (Viscosity Modifier), Mel (Natural Additive), Panthenol (Skin/Hair Conditioning Agent), PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil (Emulsifier), Myristamidopropyl PG-Dimonium Chloride Phosphate (Skin-Conditioning Agent), Citric Acid (pH Adjuster), Styrene/Acrylates Copolymer (Film Former), Laureth-4 (Emulsifier/Surfactant), Parfum (Fragrance), Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis Oil (Skin-Conditioning Agent), p-Anisic Acid (pH Modifier), Sodium Hydroxide (pH Adjuster), Methyl Gluceth-20 (Viscosity Modifier), Tetrasodium Glutamate Diacetate (Chelating Agent), Hexyl Cinnamal (Fragrance Ingredient), Bertholletia Excelsa Seed Oil (Emollient), Linalool (Fragrance Ingredient), Phosphoric Acid (pH Adjuster), Tetrasodium EDTA (Chelating Agent), Hydroxycitronellal (Fragrance Ingredient), Limonene (Fragrance Ingredient), C11-15 Pareth-40 (Surfactant), C11-15 Pareth-7 (Surfactant), CI 15985 (Colour).

My Opinion:

I like my hand wash to smell really good, but unfortunetly most of the hand washes available here aren't strongly scented.

I came across the body shop hand wash last X'mas, and got a few bottles to try out, apart from smelling good, they were really moisturizing, so I went back for a few more bottles.

I was really dissapointed when the SA told me that they have pull out all the hand washes from the stores and it was no longer available in Macau.

The Body Shop Spiced Vanilla Hand Cream

Contents: 30ml / 1 us fl oz
Price: HK$149.00 (this came in a set of 3)

This moisturising hand cream is scented with vanilla and a hint of spice. It helps to condition nails and leaves hands feeling softer and smoother.

• Moisturising
• Conditions nails
• No parabens

My Opinion:

This is a limited edition scent that I got on a X'mas set back in 2012 and never got around using it. As I've mentioned inumerous time that I'm on a low buy, so I'm finally digging into my stash and start using things up.

The reason why this was left unused was because it did not smell like vanilla at all, but I did notice the scent of spices. Although I'm not a huge fan of the scent, I do like the cream, it has a thick texture that really hydrates and soften my hand, but it does take sometime to be absorbed, not ideal to carry it on your purse. The scent is very strong and it does last, so I guess it will be overpowering for the summer.

Although this is a limited edition scent I've noticed that Body Shop's does bring it back every X'mas, so if you like it you may still get it around X'mas time.

The Body Shop Strawberry Body Polish

Contents: 6.75oz / 200ml
Price: HK$49.50 (Retails for HK$99, got this at 50% off)

According to Body Shop's webpage:

Product description
Best if you want to: Cleanse and exfoliate with a foaming, gel-based scrub that has crushed walnut shells and kiwi seeds and a light strawberry scent.
Best for: normal skin, suitable for everyday use
How it works:
  • Strawberry juice is rich in vitamin C and antioxidants to protect and nourish skin, as well as pore-cleansing salicylic acid; provides natural strawberry fragrance and red color.
  • Community Trade organic honey moisturizes and conditions skin.
  • Sunflower oil and sweet almond oil moisturize and soften skin.
Ingredients: Water, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Glycerin, Cocamide DEA, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Acrylates Copolymer, Juglans Regia (Walnut) Shell Powder, Fragrance, Benzyl Alcohol, Phenoxyethanol, Honey, Kiwi (Actinidia Chinensis) Seed, Fragaria vesca (Strawberry) Juice, Sodium Hydroxide, Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane, Disodium EDTA, Limonene, Cinnamal, Denatonium Benzoate, Salicylic Acid, Linalool, Citral, Red 4, Red 33.

My Opinion:

This is an exfoliator and body wash 2 in 1 product, but the exfoliating effect was really mild, so I've been using this mainly as a body wash.

I've previously tried the Satsuma Body Polish, in which I fell in love with the scent, but honestly I don't real care for the strawberry scent. This has been sitting on my bathroom shelf for nearly six month, and I'll try to finish it, but I can't see myself repurchasing.

This 100% biodegradable shower gel is sulphate, paraben and colourant-free. Contains real watermelon and eucalyptus extracts.
  • Soap-free
  • No sulphates, parabens or colourants
  • Watermelon and eucalyptus scent

My Opinion:

This is my 3rd and last bottle of shower gel from the earth lovers series, and I'm really glad that I'm finally on the last bottle, because if you have read my previous reviews on the Pear & Lemongrass and Apricot & Basil Shower Gel, you would know how much I hated these things....

Just like the others, this shower gel has a plastic scent, but if you compare it with the other 2, it has the weakest plastic scent, but still who wants to smell like plastic. Apart from the weird scent, this does smells faintly like watermelon, but the scent was so weak that by the time I ranse it off I couldn't smell it at all.

The Body Shop Rainforest Moisure Hair Butter

Contents: 200ml

Use weekly or as required.
For dry and damaged hair.

How to use:
After shampooing, smooth 1-2 hazelnut-sized amounts onto palms and work through damp hair. Leave for at least five minutes. Massage with some warm water, then rinse thoroughly. For best results use after washing with Rainforest Moisture Shampoo.

Ingredients:
Aqua, Cetearyl Alcohol, Distearoylethyl Hydroxyethylmonium Methosulfate, Olea Europaea Fruit Oil, Parfum, Phenoxyethanol, Cetyl Esters, Glycerin, Schinziophyton Rautanenii Kernel Oil, Benzoic Acid, Caprylyl Glycol, Salicylic Acid, Trisodium Ethylenediamine Disuccinate, Mel, Pentaclethra Macroloba Seed Oil, Sodium Benzoate, Tocopherol.

My Opinion:

I think this could be awarded the worst hair mask that I've tried in year of 2013, and I've really regretted not checking out it's review on makeupalley before getting it....

This smells awful and it left my hair greasy, waxy and tangly. I'd usually slather some hair mask on my hair, run thru with a comb and leave it on for several minutes, but with this product no matter how much product I apply, it still doesn't feel smooth, and I was unable to comb thru. After I rinse it off it was just awfull, my hair feels waxy and dry....

I've just check out it's reviews on makeupalley and some people were saying that you shouldn't follow the instruction on the product but wash and condition your hair with your usual products, after towel dry hair take a hazelnut sized portion, rub your hands together and rub it through your hair. Leave it in.

I'm going to try this new method later and let you know if it works.

Update 4th March 2014:
I've tried this product again on towel dry hair and it still left my hair greasy.

The Body Shop Vineyard Peach Shower Gel

Contents: 8.4 fl oz / 250ml
Price: HK$59.00

According to The Body Shop's webpage:

This soap-free shower gel smells like freshly picked peaches and leaves skin feeling peachy-soft. Soap-free Lather-rich Delicate peach scent Special edition.

Ingredients: Aqua/Water/Eau (Solvent/Diluent), Sodium Laureth Sulfate (Surfactant), Cocamidopropyl Betaine (Surfactant), Glycerin (Humectant), Polysorbate 20 (Emulsifier), PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil (Emulsifier), Sodium Chloride (Viscosity Modifier), Phenoxyethanol (Preservative), Polyglyceryl-2 Caprate (Skin-Conditioning Agent), Parfum/Fragrance (Fragrance), Mel/Honey/Miel (Natural Additive), Sodium Benzoate (Preservative), Citric Acid (pH Adjuster), Prunus Persica Kernel Oil/Prunus Persica (Peach) Kernel Oil (Emollient), PEG-120 Methyl Glucose Dioleate (Viscosity Modifier), Linalool (Fragrance Ingredient), Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane (Sunscreen), Disodium EDTA (Chelating Agent), Limonene (Fragrance Ingredient), Prunus Persica Extract/Prunus Persica (Peach) Extract (Natural Additive), Denatonium Benzoate (Denaturant), CI 14700/Red 4 (Colour), CI 19140/Yellow 5 (Colour).

My Opinion:

Body Shop's was having a promotion of 3 shower gel for HK$99, so while I was stocking up on my favorite scent (Satsuma and Pink grapefruit) I came across this peachy scented shower gel and was told by the sales lady that it was a limited edition.

I'm not in love with peach scented stuffs, but this one did smell good, is not overly sweet or artifical. I've been using this for a few weeks now, it did not dry out my skin but it isn't really hydrating either. I've liked the scent, but that fades away really fast.

My Opinion:

I've never been a huge fan of Body's Shop skin care products, but I do love their body care stuffs, especially the shower gels and body scrubs. Recently, while I was stocking up on my body care products, this Tea Tree Combo was being promoted and it was HK$179.00 for 2.

I've actually got those for my husband but ended really liking the Squeaky Clean Scrub, the beads size were just right to exfoliate without irritating my skin and the Tea Tree has kept my skin clear. However I didn't really care for the Cream and Creamy wash, but that's just a personal preference because I always wash my face with my clarisonic, and since this facial wash does not lather it doesn't work with the clarisonic.

My Opinion:

This is an exfoliator and body wash 2 in 1 product, but the exfoliating effect was really mild, so I've been using this mainly as a body wash.

Although I didn't really like the product, I felt in love with the scent (citrusy), and I went back to the store to get the shower gel and eau de toilette.

My Opinion:

I don't usually review deodorants, but I really had to rant about this product. Just before I start I need to clarify that I don't usually have strong body odour, and nobody has ever told me that I smell, so you could imagine how humiliated I was when I found out the source of the smelly scent was actually coming from me.

I've put on the deodorant early in the morning and sprayed on some perfume before I went to work, at around mid day I've started to notice something smelly, and I was virtually sniffing inside my office trying to figure out what was the scent, and it has actually cross my mind that there might be a dead mousse somewhere, until I lifted up my arms and realize that the strong disgusting smell was actually coming from me.

On itself this product wasn't strongly scented, a light fresh marine scent, but somehow with my body chemistry it has turned into something gross, I've never smelled this bad, I had to run to the bathroom and wipe it off and I've sprayed nearly 1/3 of a bottle of my perfume to get rid of the scent.

This went straight to the bin.

Product description
Best if you want to: Sweep colors together for a stunning, all-over glow on the face and cheeks or use each one individually on the eyes or to accent specific areas.
Best for: all skin types

What it is designed to do:
  • Pearl pigments provide shimmer and sparkle, helping to disguise fine lines around the eye area.
  • Ultra-fine talc is a high-performance powder that enables smooth and even application.
  • Community Trade marula oil from Namibia helps to repair skin’s moisture barrier.

Ingredients: Talc, Aluminum Starch Octenylsuccinate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Zea Mays (Corn) Starch, Dipentaerythrityl Hexahydroxystearate/Hexastearate/Hexarosinate, Isopropyl Isostearate, Octyldodecyl Stearoyl Stearate, Sclerocarya Birrea (Marula) Oil, Sorbitan Stearate, Nylon-12, Water, Magnesium Aluminum Silicate, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Benzoate, Methylparaben, Polyacrylamide, Ethylparaben, Propylparaben, C13-14 Isoparaffin, Sodium Dehydroacetate, Xanthan Gum, Butylparaben, Laureth-7. May Contain: Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Iron Oxides.

My Opinion:

I've been using this as a luminizer on my cheeks and it just brightens up my complexion, the result is very subtle.

I've read people comparing this with the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Bricks, and personally I prefer this over the Shimmer Bricks, because this product gave me a pearlescent glow while Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick was just shimmers.

Earth Lovers Pear & Lemongrass Shower Gel

Contents: 8.4 fl oz
Price: HK$69.00

According to Body Shop's webpage:

This 100% biodegradable shower gel is sulphate, paraben and colourant-free. Contains real pear and lemongrass extracts.
  • Soap-free
  • No sulphates, parabens or colourants
  • Pear and lemongrass scent

Ingredients: Aqua (Solvent/Diluent), Sodium Lauroyl Methyl Isethionate (Surfactant - Cleansing Agent), Cocamidopropyl Betaine (Surfactant), Sodium Chloride (Viscosity Modifier), Glycerin (Humectant), Polyglyceryl-4 Caprate (Skin-Conditioning Agent), Parfum (Fragrance), Sodium Benzoate (Preservative), Citric Acid (pH Adjuster), Sucrose Laurate (Skin-Conditioning Agent), Trisodium Ethylenediamine Disuccinate (Chelating Agent), Zinc Laurate (Anticaking Agent), Linalool (Fragrance Ingredient), Salicylic Acid (Preservative/Hair Conditioner), Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice (Skin Conditioning Agent), Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil (Emollient), Pyrus Communis Fruit Extract (Skin-Conditioning Agent), Sodium Hydroxide (pH Adjuster), Carica Papaya Fruit Extract (Skin-Conditioning Agent), Cymbopogon Schoenanthus Extract (Skin-Conditioning Agent), Panax Ginseng Root Extract (Natural Additive).

My Opinion:

I've previously tried this shower gel in the scent Apricot and Basil and I have hated it, I had to get my family to finish it off.

But since I got this during a promotion, and have purchased 3 different scents of shower gels from the Earth Lovers series, I've still got 2 bottles to go over.

The Pear and Lemongrass scent wasn't as bad as the Apricot and Basil, there was still a hint of plastic scent in this shower gel, but it was bearable.

I can't wait to finish the last bottle and I'll definetly not repurchase the earth lovers shower gels.

All In One Face Base

Shade: 04
Contents: 9g / 0.3oz
Price: HK$189.00

A foundation and powder in one neat compact. Use dry for a light matte finish or wet for high coverage. Perfect for on-the-go touch-ups. Matte finish Velvety feel No added fragrance Includes sponge and mirror Dermatologically tested

Ingredients: Talc, Dimethicone, Silica, Zea Mays (Corn) Starch, Polymethyl Methacrylate, Zinc Stearate, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Sclerocarya Birrea (Marula) Oil, Octyldodecyl Lactate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Butylparaben, Methylparaben, Sorbic Acid, Disodium EDTA, Lauryl Alcohol, PCA, Titanium Dioxide, Iron Oxides.

My Opinion:

My skin is combo leaning on the oily side during summer, and I usually need to powder my face at least once throughout the day.

I think this powder will work well for someone with very oily skin, because it did really matify my T zone, but unfortunatly I've been dusting this all over my face and when I look myself in the mirror later on, I found that my undereye area was really creepy and I look really old, it appears to emphasize every single dry line in that area.

I've learned to only dust this only on my T zone, and avoid using it anywhere near my eyes.

    My Opinion:
I got this product mainly because they were having a promotion and it was HK$119 for 3 bottles. I've sniff it at the store and though that I've liked the scent. When I've started to use it, I've noticed that it has a strong plastic smell, I've asked my family members to try it out, and they did not seem to notice the plastic smell, so they've finishe it up for me.

The Body Shop Sweet Lemon Shower Gel

    Contents: 250ml
    Price: HK$59.00

According to The Body Shop's webpage:

Our new Sweet Lemon range benefits from skin-caring lemon seed oil, which is high in anti-oxidants, vitamin C and has excellent moisturizing properties. The Body Shop sources this oil from handpicked lemons from trees that grow abundantly in the Italian Riviera. The luscious oil is obtained by cold pressing the lemon seeds that are leftover from the fruit processing industry, seeds and oil which might otherwise go to waste.

    Ingredients:
Water, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Glycerin, Polyglyceryl-2 Caprate, Polysorbate 20, Phenoxyethanol, Limonene, Sodium Chloride, Fragrance, Benzyl Alcohol, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, PEG-120 Methyl Glucose Dioleate, Honey, Sodium Benzoate, Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon) Seed Oil, Citric Acid, Benzophenone-4, Citral, Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane, Disodium EDTA, Propylene Glycol, Denatonium Benzoate, Yellow 5, Yellow 6

    My Opinion:

I found this shower gel to be slightly too dry for the winter, but I've been using this during the summer without a problem, and the lemon scent is just amazing.

    My Opinion:

I got this fragrance last year, and although it claims to be a man fragrance I've been using it frequently during the summer. For the summer I usually prefer something fresh, clean and light, but those fragrances usually do not last more than a few hours on me, since this one was targeted for men, I was hoping that it might last longer than my other fragrances, unfortunately it started to fade after about 2 hours.

    My Opinion:

I've got 2 of these body butters and was surprise to find out that their texture is totally different. As you can see from the last picture above, the coconut body butter has a very thick texture and although I do not like using it on my body, I've been using it as a hand cream, it doesn't take too long to be absorbed and it really moisturizes and softens my hands.

With regards to the pink grapefruit body butter, it has a very watery texture, but once you apply it on your skin it feels super sticky and you need to wait for ages for it to be absorbed. Even though it has the most delicious grapefruit scent I have only been using it on my legs...
