My opinion:

This is my first "It's a 10" shampoo, and I love it, It's sulfate free, cleanses my hair, leaving it soft without weighting it down.

I found the price to be slightly higher that what I was expecting, but I've already placed an order for the other shampoos from this brand, because they were being discounted at JCpenny. I'll let you know how I'm liking it.

Atorrege AD+ Mild Hair Shampoo and Conditioner

Contents: @390ml
Price: @HK$270.00
Local of Purchase: Watsons

Ingredients: Water, DPG, lauramidopropyl Betaine, sodium laureuluasparagine, cocamide DEA, hamamelis extract, soy extract, Glycyrrhizic acid 2 K, records of the sysex, betaine, licorice extract, lavender oil, citric acid, polyquaternium-10, HEDTA-3Na, BG, Fe a d t-all, ethanol (to extract contains trace amounts. )

My Opinion:

Since I had my first brazilian blowout about 2 years ago, I've only been using sulfate free shampoos, and I must have mentioned before that there aren't that many drugstore choices in here, so when I found out that Atorrege AD+ does not contains sulfate and is paraben and mineral oil free, I wanted to give it a try.

Honestly, I found this shampoo and conditioner to be super expensive, but the sales lady told me that I would only be needing 1 pump per wash, a bottle would last me for a year, and she was right, one pump was more than enough for my slightly longer than shoulder length hair.

Let's start with the shampoo, it lathers really well and it keeps my hair really clean and soft, but the conditioner was just ordinary, it didn't do much for my hair, so on my second wash I've decided to use a hair mask instead.

Now here is the problem, whenever I use this shampoo, I can't use any other conditioners or hair masks, nothing penetrates into my hair, is like the conditioner or the hair mask is just sitting on top of my hair, and my hair doesn't feel soft after rinsing.

Since I have pretty dry hair, the conditioner is just not sufficient for my needs, and since the shampoo doesn't work with the hair treatments that I have, I don't think I'll be repurchasing.

Alba Botanica Clarifying Shampoo

Contents: 8.5 fl oz (251ml)
Price: US$8.40
Local of Purchase: iherb.com
Coupon Code for $10 off your first purchase

According to Alba Botanica's webpage:

Purifying rosemary extract and chamomile improve volume, manageability and shine while helping bring out hair color. Whether natural or color treated, your hair will love the non-stripping cleansers, shine enhancing chamomile and nourishing panthenol.

Ingredients: Aqua (Water), Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice (1), Theobroma Grandiflorum Seed Butter (1), Mangifera Indica (Mango) Seed Butter, Astrocaryum Murumuru Seed Butter, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil (1), Glycine Soja (Soybean) Lipids Beeswax, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract (1), Eucalyptus Globulus Leaf Extract, Moringa Pterygosperma Seed Extract, Panthenol, Glycerin, Soyamidopropalkonium Chloride, Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Sodium Cocoyl Glutamate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate, Limonene, Fragrance (Parfum) (1) Certified Organic Ingredient

My opinion:

I always use a clarifying shampoo once a week, because I used hair treatment instead of a conditioner daily, and those stuffs do build up on my hair, and if I don't clarify it weekly it weights down my hair.

After Neutrogena and Tresemme I've decided to try a new clarifying shampoo, and I'm glad that I've picked Alba's Botanica, because this stuff is just amazing. It removes all build up without leaving my hair dry. My hair actually felt soft afterwards, and unlike Neutrogena which is a really strong clarifying shampoo that always leaves my hair tangly and dry, and Tresemme which is less drying (but still dry).

I've already finished my bottle and will definitely repurchase.

Reniu Coconut Shampoo

Contents: 8.5 fl oz / 250ml
Price: AU$22.00

According to the package:

For centuries, south pacific islander have used pure coconut oil and flower extracts to nourish, moisturise and beautify skin and hair.

Nourish and hydrate hair with this luxurious coconut shampoo.

Natural extracts will leave hair naturally soft and shiny without buildup. Great for daily use.

Ingredients: Aqua, Cocoamidopropyl Betaine (Coconut Derived), Peg-7 Glyceryl Cocoate (Coconut Derived), Glycerin (and) Glycol Distearate (and) Coco-Glycoside, Peg-150 Pentaerythrityl Tetrastearate (Coconut Derived), PEG-60 Almond Glycerides, Fragrance, Polyquaternium 10, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut Oil).

My Opinion:

This was a souvenir from FIJI, and being someone who isn't fond of coconut scented stuff, this was left in the cabinet unused.

I'd usually return a gift when I'm sure that I won't be using it, but after being told inumerous time that is rude in Asia to return a gift, I've finally learned to accept it even knowing that I'll never use it.

Since I have started to have regular Brazilian blowout about a year ago, I started to use sulfate and chloride free shampoo, but please bear in mind that sulfate and chloride free shampoo is not readily available in drugstores here in Macau.

The only sulfate free shampoo (reasonably  priced) that I found locally is the Giovanni Tea Tree Triple Treat Shampoo, and since I like having several shampoos in my shower, I've decided to try this out.

This shampoo was actually not bad, it doesn't contain sulfate and chloride, it lathers well and it left my hair soft, but as you'll know, the scent was really a deal breaker.

My Opinion:

I'm trying to switch all my shampoo to sulfate free, but as I've mentioned before it's kind of hard for me to locate it here in Macau, and so far I've only liked  Giovanni Tea Tree Triple Treat Shampoo.

Since I always need 3 shampoos on my bathroom shelf to rotate, one for deep cleansing, one for moisturizing and one for my normal hair days, I've picked this up. I was hoping that this would replace my moisturizing shampoo, but after using it, my hair was all tangly and it didn't felt moisturized.

Shiseido Ma Cherie Shampoo and Treatment

Air Feel Shampoo and Treatment

Moisture Shampoo and Treatment

Shampoo
Contents: 200ml
Price: HK$38.00

Treatment
Contents: 180ml
Price: HK$89.00

My Opinion:

These were so cute on display at Mannings that I had to get it, actually I wanted to get more than one, but since I have a cabinet full of hair care products I've restricted myself in getting one only.

The first item that I got from this line was the moisture treatment which is basically a hair mask that left my hair super soft and sleek. With most hair treatment you have to leave it on for a few minutes before you could rinse it off, but with this product you could use it like a conditioner, there is no waiting time.

I went back to the store and got the rest of the products, with the exception of the conditioners (regular conditioners just don't work for my super damaged hair), which I'm regretting now....

The shampoos were just average and the treatment for the airy line did nothing to my hair.

My Opinion:
I've started to use sulfate free shampoo about a year ago when I had my first Brasilian Blowout, I was told that I was suppose to use a sulfate free shampoo for the blowout to last longer, but it was really hard for me locate it here in Macau, because most of the sales lady did not know what sulfate was...

Anyway, I've started to look at the ingredients list of shampoos and finally found Giovanni. I initially didn't like this shampoo, actually I didn't like sulfate free shampoo at all, because I prefer a foamy shampoo and most sulfate free shampoos doesn't lather well.

I've been using sulfate free shampoo for nearly a year now, and it has actually grown on me, the first thing that I've learn was to wash my hair twice, the first time it won't lather well, but for the second time when most of the dirt has been removed it will be really foamy.

Although I no longer have Brasilian blowout, I'm still using this shampoo, especially during the summer, because it leaves my hair and scalp really clean and fresh, and since it has pepperming in it, the cooling effect feels really good in the hot summer days.

  • Exclusive micro-enriched formula with deep hydrating botanicals
  • Gently cleanses and conditions the hair and scalp with no residue buildup
  • Repairs the damaging effects of styling and the environment
  • Naturally replenishes and locks in moisture

Ingredients: Water Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose Sodium Laureth Sulfate Fragrance Cocamide MEA Guar Hydroxypropyl Trimonium Chloride Sodium Isostearoyl Lactylate Polyquaternium-7 Cocamidopropyl Betaine Tocopherol Glycerin Panthenol Glycol Distearate Methylchloroisothiazolinone Sodium Chloride Methylisothiazolinone Laurdimonium Hydroxypropyl Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein F D & C Blue #1 Dimethicone

My Opinion:

I've initially purchased this for my husband, but after several trials he didn't like it so I've ended up using it.

This shampoo left my hair smooth and tangle free after wash, but most of the other shampoos that I've tried would have done the same thing for half the price.

I honestly don't think this is worth the HK$88.00 (about US$10) that I've paid for, but after some googling, this only cost around US4.00 in the States, and I guess that's the price that I would be willing to pay for it.

Macadamia Natural Oil Rejuvenating Shampoo

Contents: 10oz

Local of Purchase: Target

According to Macadamina's webpage:

Our Rejuvenating Shampoo is designed to add moisture and protection to all hair types and is excellent for dry, damaged hair.

  • Sulfate and paraben free
  • Gently cleanses chemically treated, damaged hair
  • Replenishes moisture with no heavy build-up
  • Builds protection from harsh daily environmental elements
Ingredients: Aqua/Water/Eau, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Glycerin, Cocamide DEA, Glycol Distearate, Cocamidoprophyl Betaine, Zinc Pyrithione, Disodium Laureth Sulfosuccinate, Dimethicone, Hydroxypropyl Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride, Parfum/Fragrance, Disodium EDTA, Carbomer, Methylparaben, Linum Usitatissimum (Linseed) Seed Extract, Argania Spinosa (Argan) Kernel Oil, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Citric Acid, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavander) Oil, Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil, Propylparaben, Sea Salt, Sodium Chloride, Stearic Acid, Titanium Dioxide, Tocopheryl Acetate, Triethanolamine, Triticum Vulgare (Wheat) Germ Oil, Hydroxyisohexl 3 Cyclohexene Carboxaldehyde, Alpha IsoMethylIonone, Butylphenyl Methypropional

My Opinion:
Personally I prefer shampoos with sulfates, it lathers better, but since I've recently had a Keratin treatment and was suppose to use sulfate free shampoos, I've decided to give this a go.

This shampoo has a floral scent and for a sulfate free shampoo, it seems to lather pretty well, but I don't think I'll be repurchasing it, because it seriously didn't do much for my hair, and I was unable to justify the purchase of such an expensive shampoo....

Tresemme Vitamin C Deep Cleansing Shampoo

Contents: 900ml
Price: HK$49.90
Local of Purchase: Watsons

According to Tresemme's webpage:

How it works:

  • If you are frequently piling on heavy waxes, pomades, creams, sprays, etc., this shampoo will get rid of that extra gunk.
  • Don't save for just "spring" cleaning - coat on hair once a week for deep cleansing or every day for extreme build-up.
  • Its clarifying formula thoroughly polishes hair, thanks to its vitamin C and extracts of grapefruit and lemon.

How to use:
  1. To get squeaky clean benefits, coat wet hair with a liberal amount of shampoo.
  2. Gently massage the scalp and roots with fingertips to work into a lather. Contrary to popular belief, you don't have to scrub and scrub to get hair dirt-free (that motion only roughs up the texture and causes breakage and tangling).
  3. Lightly squeeze the shampoo from roots to ends. Our salon stylists suggest to rinse thoroughly (most people don't rinse long enough).
  4. Add needed moisture back in with Remoisturize Conditioner.
Ingredients: Water (Aqua), Isobutane, Hydrofluorocarbon 152A, VVP/VA Copolymer, Polyquaternium-11, Propane, Polysorbate 20, PVP, Polyquaternium-4, Fragrance (Parfum), PPG-12-50 Lanolin, Olealkonium Chloride, Polyquaternium-7, PPG-9 Diethylmonium Chloride, Sodium Benzoate, Propylene Glycol, Cyclopentasiloxane, Hexyl Cinnamal, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Cyclohexasiloxane, Sorbitol, Glycerin, Benzyl Benzoate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Citronellol, Gelatin/Keratin, Amino Acid/Lysine Hydroxypropylcitronella, Geraniol, Hydrolyzed Elastin, Hydroxyisohexyl 3-Cyclohexene Carboxaldehyde, Amyl Cinnamal.

My Opinion:

I'm someone that likes to deep cleanse my hair once everyweek, and have been using Neutrogena Shampoo Anti-Residue Formula for several years. I've noticed that Neutrogena was becoming too harsh for my fine/weak/damaged hair and wanted a change.

I have no idea why I got such as gigantic bottle of Tresemme, since I only use it once a week, and it's starting to look like I might never finish it.

In comparison with Neutrogena, Tresemme is milder and less drying, but it still leaves my hair squeaky clean.

Lóreal Smooth-Intense Caring Shampoo

Contents: 400 ml
Price: HK$47.00

Local of Purchase: Watsons

According to Loreal's webpage:

Lock moisture in, keep humidity out.

Carmelina seed oil smoothes and nourishes hair leaving it soft to the touch and manageable. The look - super smooth. The texture - sleek and virtually frizz-free

Ingredients: Water, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Coco-Betaine, Laureth-5 Carboxylic Acid, Sodium Chloride, Trimethylsilylamodimethicone, Cocamide MIPA, PPG-5-Ceteth-20, Parfum Fragrance, Sodium Benzoate, Polyquaternium-10, Methylparaben, PEG-55 Propylene Glycol Oleate, Propylene Glycol, Salicylic Acid, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Butylparaben, Ethylparaben, Hexyl Cinnamal, Isobutylparaben, Propylparaben, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Linalool, Limonene, Benzyl Salicylate, Camelina Sativa Camelina Sativa Seed Oil, Citronellol, Amyl Cinnamate, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Geraniol, Methyl Cocoate, Sodium Cocoate, BHT, Yellow 6 CI 15985, Red 4 CI 14700.

My Opinion:

I've already mentioned before that I can't live without L'oreal Elseve Smooth Intense Anti-Frizz Mask during the hot humid summer days, but it has never occurred to me to try out their shampoo, and since I was buying another mask, I've just picked up the shampoo as well.

I found the shampoo to be a bit heavy on my hair, but just like the mask it does tame down frizziness, and I do like to use it during the humid days.

Ingredients for the shampoo: Water (Aqua), Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Sodium Chloride, Glycol Distearate, Dimethiconal, Fragrance (Parfum), Glycerin, Carbomer, Gluconolactone, PPG 9, Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride, Citric Acid, TEA Dodecylbenzene Sulfonate, Adipic Acid, Sodium Sulfate, Trehalose, Tetrasodium EDTA, TEA Sulfate, DMDM Hydantoin, PEG 45M, Prunus Amygdalus Oil (Sweet Almond), Hydrogenated Coconut Oil, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, Mica (CI 77019), Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Yellow 5 (CI 19410), Red 33 (CI 17200) (CI 17200), Blue 1 Lake (CI 42090) (CI 42090)

Ingredients for the conditioner: Water (Aqua), Cetearyl Alcohol, Dimethicone, Stearamidopropyl Dimethylamine, Hydrogenated Coconut Oil, Behentrimonium Chloride, Fragrance (Parfum), Mineral Oil (Paraffinum Liquidum), Lactic Acid, Dipropylene Glycol, Amodimethicone, Potassium Chloride, Disodium EDTA, Gluconolactone, Trehalose, Prunus Amygdalus Duclis Oil (Sweet Almond), DMDM Hydantoin, PEG 150 Distearate, PEG 7 Propylheptyl Ether, Cetrimonium Chloride, Adipic Acid, Sodium Sulfate, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, Yellow 5 (CI 19140), Red 33 (CI 17200) (CI 17200), Blue (CI 42090)

My Opinion:
I've been loving Dove Hair Therapy Nourishing Oil Care Daily Treatment, so when I saw this value set at Watsons, I needed to give it a try.

Just like the Daily Treatment, it cleanses and nourishes my hair without weighting it down. I took this set to my recent trip to LA and found that this product actually works well in both dry and humid climate. When the weather is humid this product helps to tame down frizz, and during dry weather it hydrates my hair. I think I'll be switching to this whole line of hair care product.

*Certified Organic

My Opinion:
I've initially got this shampoo for daily use, but after using it once, knew immediately that I won't be able to use it on a daily basis, because it will dry out my hair. I've been using it once every week to remove products build up and have been very satisfy with the results, it left my hair squeaky clean.

This has already replaced my long time favorite Neutrogena Shampoo Anti-Residue Formula, because it delivers the same effect with a much better scent.

Betty Boop

Before I start with the review, I must admit that I've got these two items only because of the packaging. Look how cute they are!

(Left: Facial Cleanser  Right: Shampoo)

Shampoo ExtraDolce

Contents: 250ml
Price: HKD48.00
Local of Purchase: Colormix

Ingredients: Aqua, Disodium PEG-8 Palm Glyceryl Sulfosuccinate, Cocamidopropyl Beatine, Cocamide Dea, PEG-200 Palm Kernel, Glycerin, Aloe Barbadensis Extract, Centaurea Cyanus Extract, Prunus Amygdalus Oil, Hydroluzed Silk, Parfum, Propylene Glycol, Imidazolidinyl Urea, Potassium Sorbate, Disodium EDTA

My Opinion:
This shampoo has a very watery texture and it smells amazing , but it doesn't really lathers. I've used nearly 1/5 of the bottle in a single wash and still felt that my hair wasn't cleansed.
I've tried using it again, and for this time I've washed my hair with another shampoo first and went thru a second time with this shampoo. For this time it did lather, but I don't see any reason why I would want to was my hair twice.

Gel Detergente Viso

Contents: 150ml
Price: HKD25.00
Local of Purchase: Colormix

Ingredients: Aqua, Cocamidopropyl Beatine, Jojoba Esters, Glycerin, Aloe Barbadensis Extract, Hamamelis Virginiana Extract, Tilia Cordata Extract, Carbomer, Triethanolamine, Propylene Glycol, Imidazolidinyl Urea, Parfum, Potassium Sorbate, Disodium EDTA, CI 73360, CI 77007

My Opinion:
While I've hated the shampoo, I've really liked the facial cleanser, because it left my skin really soft after each wash. It contains these tiny beads that does not melt off, and since they are so tiny I guess that it provides mild exfoliation everytime you wash your face. Just like the shampoo, this cleanser doesn't lathers, and even though it contains these tiny beads in it, it is a really mild facial cleanser that did not irritate my skin at all.

This shampoo cleanses without drying out my hair, although it has a very thick texture, it lathers pretty well, but somehow I just don't like it. Perhaps is because of the scent, it has a fresh marine scent that I didn't really like.

Lux Super Damage Repair Shampoo

Contents: 500ml
Price: HK$49.90
Local of Purchase: Watsons

My Opinion:

I've tried googling for this product, but was unable to come up with anything in English, Is this product available in the States? I know that I've read from someone else's blog that this product is available in Hawaii, but don't quote me. Anyway I love this shampoo, because it cleanses while leaving my hair soft and smooth, I think I'm tempted to try out other hair care products from this range.

Natur Vital Henna Shampoo

Contents: 300ml (10.1 fl oz)
Price: HKD 48.00
Local of Purchase: City Super

According to the package:

A new, double natural action formula that brightens and protects your colour. The result is soft, shiny hair with longer-lasting colour

Natural action

Henna "Lawsonia inermis", a natural colouring agent is obtained from crushed dried Henna leaves. Henna extract makes your hair shiny and strong and gives it lots of body. It also brightens natural and dyed hair colour.

Sunflower "Hellianthus annuus L", the extract from Sunflower seeds is rich in polyphenols and protects the colour of natural and dyed hair from the aggression of ultra-violet rays and free radicals. Its action is increased by a UVA+UVB sun filter to protect your hair and prolong its colour.

Results:
  • Protects and brightens hair colour
  • Makes hair shiny
  • Soft and healthy hair

Ingredients: Aqua (Water), Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Lawsonia Inermis (Henna) extract, Hellianthus annuus (Sunflower) seed extract, Panthenol, Sodium PCA, Polyquaternium 10, Glycol Distearate, Propylene Glycol, Cocamide DEA, PEG-55 Propylene Glycol Oleate, Citric Acid, Sodium Chloride, Benzophenone-4, Parfum (Fragrance), Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Ethylparaben, Propylparaben, Butylparaben, Disodium EDTA, CI 42090 (FD&C Blue I), CI 17200 (D&C Red33), CI 19140 (FD&C Yellow 5)

My Opinion:

I mainly use this shampoo in the following situations:
  1. when my hair color starts to fade, and I don't have the time to dye it or
  2. when I've recently dye my hair and the color was just too light.
This shampoo will temporarily darken my hair, and the color will only last until my next wash. I always have a bottle of this and use it whenever my color starts to fade. This is a very convenient and simple way to color your hair without any damages, it has no harsh chemicals in it, and it does leave your hair very soft after wash.

容量: 300ml (10.1 fl oz)
價錢:HKD 48.00
購買地點:City Super

我的意見:

小妹經常染頭髮,有時染出來的顏色太淺或者顏色開始變淡時,但小妹又不想或沒有時間再染時就會用這支洗頭水。它能暫時令到頭髮顏色變深但又不會傷頭髮。

Shiseido Super Mild

Contents:
  • Shampoo 220ml
  • Conditioner 220ml
  • Hair and Scalp Mask 200g
Price: I don't remember how much I've got this set for, but the individual items are retail as follows:
  • Shampoo 220ml - HKD48.00
  • Conditioner 220ml - HKD48.00
  • Hair and Scalp Mask 200g - HKD42.00

My Opinion:
The Shampoo and the conditioner did not strike me as outstanding, however I was sort of surprised with the Hair and Scalp mask, because according to the instruction you were suppose to massage it into your scalp (which I was kind of sceptical, because having oily roots, I always avoid applying products into the scalp).

As per the instructions, I've massaged it into my scalp and it left a cooling sensation, which I think there is something like mint in it, afterwards I've massaged some products into the rest of my hair and if left it soft without weighting it down. I found this pack to be just average, and most probably suitable for someone with normal hair.

    Asience Shine Therapy Shampoo

    Contents: 220ml
    Price: HKD29.90

    According to Asience's webpage:

Enhanced Asian Beauty Essences plus Soybean, its ultra repairing formula is suitable for damaged, dull and brittle coloured, permed or rebonded hair. Result? Hair regains its strength and shine, becoming resistant to breakage and spilt ends.
    Ingredients:
    • Asian Energy Formula: Pearl (repair), Camellia, Ginseng Root Extract (hydrate), Alpinia Extract (smooth), Aloe Extract (protect)
    • Soy Bean Extract

    My Opinion:
Although Asience shampoo has been around forever, this is actually my first bottle, because I've been biased by the comercials, and was expecting something with a strong asian herbs scent, which I'll avoid at all cost.

I've only recently found out  that it actually has a floral scent, and I've decided to give it a go. This is a very nourishing shampoo that did not weight down my hair (unusual), since most of the other richer shampoos that I've tried tend to weight down my hair.
Whenever I use this shampoo I can skip my usual intensive hair treatment, and just use a normal conditioner. If you have been following my blog you would know that I do not use conditioner, my hair is so badly damage that no conditioner will leave my hair manageable, and i always have to use intensive hair treatment as a hair conditioner.

I would recommend this shampoo to anyone with really dry hair.

    容量: 220ml
    價錢:HKD29.90
