Lucidol-L Hair Powder Airy

Contents: 10g
Price: HK$49.00
Local of Purchase: Mannings

This was awful, i've tried it twice and for both time it left my hair disgusting. This powder was suppose to give you volume, but what I got was dirty hair with no volume.

I've applied this in the morning and did not notice any additional volume, and by 11 in the morning, my hair was so greasy that I had to put it in a bun. I've toss it away.

Lucido-L Designing air Hair Spray (Firm Hold)

Contents: 160g
Price: HK$36.90
Local of Purchase: Mannings

According to Lucido-L's webpage:

Designing Hair # Hair Spray
Keeps all kinds of styles firmly in place!
Non Stiff and Natural Finish

Product Details:
  • smooth and flexible finish with no stiffness
  • keeps created styles for many hours even on a humid day
To use:
  • After styling, spray gently at a distance of about 10-15cm from your hair.
  • Keep style in place firmly with no stiffness

My Opinion:

For those of you who might not have notice, this is actually my first review on hair spray, that's because I always air dry my hair and never really needed hair spray. But as I've mentioned on my recent hair product article, I've changed my hair style, and have been curling my hair on a daily basis, and hair spray has become a necessity.

Before I start reviewing this product I had to whack myself, I've started this blog to record every beauty items that I've tried with the intention of never again buying something that I didn't like, while I was reading some of my previous reviews on Lucido-L products, I've noticed that I've hated most of their hair care products, while I still went ahead and got this hair spray....

Yeah I know I should have read before I made the purchase, but as usual, I got something without thinking and ended up with a hair spray that didn't hold anything at all. It did gave me a bit of volume, but that was not the reason why I got a hairspray....

Mandom Baby Veil Hair Fragrance

Scent: Fresh Savon
Contents: 80g
Price: HK$49
Local of Purchase: City' Super

Ingredients: LPG, Ethanol, Dimethicone, Spice, Methylphenyl polysiloxane, Isononyl isononanoate

My Opinion:

I've tried to google about this product but all the information that came up are either in Chinese or Japanese...

This product claims to be a hair fragrance, and I've used it several times when I woke up late and didn't have time to wash my hair, apart from smelling good, it actually works abit like a dry shampoo, it removes the oilyness and gives you a bit of a lift. It's not as strong as a dry shampoo, so if your hair is really oily it won't work.

Lucido-L Hair Make Supplement - Styling Milk (Wave)

Contents: 70g
Price: HKD49.00
Local of Purchase: Mannings

My Opinion:

The package only comes in Japanese, and I couldn't find any info about this product in English, so as usual this review is only going to be my personal opinion.

If you have been following my blog, you might still remember that I hate Mandom's hair care products, I've previously tried their Perm Hair Wax and Designing Pump Hair Milk, which I've ended tossing it.

I know that I've sworn that I wasn't going to try their hair care products again, but recently they've launched a bunch of hair styling products, and as usual I've got sucked in again...

For this time I was actually fortunate, because the product was not bad, it held my hair in place without being greasy, and it did not weight down my hair. My only complain is about it's size because this comes in a tiny bottle and I've actually finished mine in less than 3 weeks. The instructions says that for mid length hair you'll need 1-2 pumps, while I've got long hair, I've actually needed 6-8 pumps to style my hair.

This cleansing lotion is also made in rinse-free formula which is convenient for tiring days.

My Opinion:

I've been using Bioderma before this, but as I've mentioned before I found that Mandom to be a good dupe for Bioderma and since the price is only 1/3 of it, I've switched.

This is my second bottle and I've previously try out the sebum version (for oily skin), and  didn't notice any difference between the brightup version and the sebum version.

I've received several messages on my previous posts from people commenting that Bioderma actually works better than Mandom, but I can't comment on that, because the only difference that I've noticed between these 2 brands is that Mandom does sting my eyes, but since I always remove my eye makeup with another remover and the fact that I always wash my face again with a foam cleanser, I serioulsy did not find the two products very different.

容量: 10.58 fl.oz. (300 mL)
價錢: HKD59.00

Mandom - Pucelle Mist Cologne

Contents: 150ml
容量

Price: RP11,000 (approximately HK$10)

價錢: 約HK$10

Earlier this year everybody was raving about the Johnson's Baby Cologne , and although I did get several bottles (different scents), I wasn't really impressed.

I had to mention the Johnson's Baby Cologne, because while I was on Holiday in Bali and searching for the Johnson's Baby Cologne, I've noticed that in Indonesia they carry these body mist from Mandom (Japanese skincare and cosmetics brand) in the local supermarket, and after trying every scent, I got the following (pic from left to right):

  • Sparkling Love (gentle floral and bright fruity)
  • Jolly Rhythm (juicy fruity and blooming floral)
  • Tropical Spirit (fresh floral)
  • Eccentric Breezen (fresh floral and citrus fruity)

Ingredients (成份): SD Alchohol 40-B, Water, Fragrance, PEG-50 Hydrogenated Castro Oil, Benzophenone-2

My Opinion:
This comes in 12 scents, but I only got the fruity ones (personal preference).
Although these mist do not last, and were marketed for young girls (which I'm no longer), I still like to use it during the hot summer days to freshen up.
For 10 bucks, I really wasn't expecting much, but I think these smells much better than the Johnson's Bably Cologne.

My Opinion:
Using this product was my worst nightmare....
The first time that I've used this product, I've ignored the instruction and used it just like any other hair styling product. I usually need 4-6 pumps of hair styling product, so I went thru my usual styling procedure (I do that at 8 in the morning). By 10, my hair was super greasy! it looks as if I've never washed my hair for a week (thrust me, it was scary), and I had to pull back my hair into a pony tail to disguise it....
Next trial, I have follow the instruction and stay with 2 pumps, I've also avoided my roots (just in case). The effect was slightly better, but still felt greasy. By the end of the day I was having allergies around my neck area.....
I'm not going to give this product another chance, it is going to the bin, and it's still in my possession because I wanted to write a review about it.
I love most of the Mandom skincare products, and I just wonder how can this company do so well with skincare while it sucks with hair care....
I've actually tried a few Mandom hair care products (reviews coming up) that really disappointed me, and I'm sure that I'm not going buy any more Mandom hair care products.....

Mandom Beauty Barrier Repair Baby Moist Base

Contents: 30ml
Price: HK$69

All the information that I found about this product is in Japanese, so I'll just tell you what I know and give you my opinion :

  1. It has SPF6 / PA+
  2. This product does not have any fragrance, and it comes in a slightly pinkish color, but when applied on is basically colorless.
  3. After application you'll need to wait for a minute for it to sink in (you can't apply your foundation straight away), and when dry it'll leave a film over your skin.
  4. It has hyaluronic acid as one of the main ingredients, which is meant to hydrate your skin.
  5. I truly dislike its packaging, because it comes in a glass bottle with a huge opening which makes it really difficult to get the appropriate amount of product.
I've been using it daily for the last few days, because the weather was really dried, and I have to admit that this stuff is really hydrating, but apart from that, it did nothing to my makeup, I didn't notice any difference at all. This feels more like a skin care product rather than a makeup product.
