Another Round of Sample Attack

Laneige Perfect Renew Essence_EX - HK$495.00/40ml
No. of trials: 2 times

The packet that I had was not enough for me to decide whether I've liked it or not, but I did find this product weird because I was suppose to applied this after emulsion, and usually most of my essences and serums are the first thing that I apply after washing my face. This product is very light and it gets absorbs instantly, but as I've mentioned before, I did not try it long enough to make a decision.

Pangea Organics Facial Cream Nigerian Ginger with Sweet Lavender & Thyme Facial Cream For Normal to Combination Skin - US36.00 / 2fl oz
No of trials: 3 times

This face cream has a very strong herbal scent and I think that some people might not like it (I'm one of those), the texture was creamy, but not too thick, once absorbed, it instantly matifies your skin, which is great for someone with oily skin, but the scent was really a deal breaker, so I won't be getting the full size.

Matrix Opti Smooth Conditioning Creme Smoothing System - 2 interim treatment
No of trials: 6 times

I have no idea how much this product cost, because I got it for free from my hairstylist and it left my hair smoother, softer and shinier. This comes out like water and I apply about a quarter on damp hair, when it dries, it leaves my hair really smooth. I'm going to get this in full size and will be writting a full review later.

Murad Skin Perfecting Lotion
No. of trials: 3 times

According to Murad's webpage: "Achieve uniform texture and tone. Arnica helps manage redness, while Retinol gently renews skin, together providing a more balanced texture".
According to the product description this sounds like something that I might like, but for the 3 times that I tried this product I didn't notice any changes on my skin texture.
According to my limited experience, this is a light cream that hydrates my skin without increasing oil secretion, but I guess I'll need more time to decide if I like it or not.

Sample Attack Round III

This is my third article about samples, and I'm not trying to make this into a monthly article, but I've been travelling more frequently than usual, and since I've accumulated a huge amount of samples (gift with purchase), I really need to use them up.

Garnier Light Gentle Clarifying Foam - HK$39.90 / 100ml
No. of trials: 8

This cleanser smells very fresh (great to wake me up in the morning), it doesn't leave any residue after cleansing but is slightly drying, better suited for the summer or for someone with oily skin (moi). Might consider getting this in full size during Summer.

L'oreal Hydrafresh Anti-Shine Fresh Purifying Icy Foam - HK$75.00 / 100ml
No. of trials: 5

This is a gel cleanser that leaves a cooling sensation on your skin even after you rinse it off, I think this will be a really fresh cleanser for the hot summer days, but since I had a skin reaction with a similar product before, I wouldn't risk getting this in full size. Please note that I did not have any skin reaction after using this product, but I still think that the Garnier Cleanser is better.

Organix Nourishing Coconut Milk Shampoo - HK$98.00 / 385ml
No. of trials: 6

This shampoo is really good for dry hair, it left my hair smooth and hydrated, but for some unknown reasons I just can't stand the scent of coconut.

Olay Total Effects 7 in 1 Anti-Aging Moisturizer - HK$179.90 / 50ml
No. of trials: 6

I love this moisturizer, it absorbs really fast, it feels light on the skin yet it still moisturizes. Now the question is Why do I keep buying high end skin care products when I almost always like the products that I've tried from Olay?

Nuxe Reve de Miel Hand And Nail Cream
No. of trials: 12

This hand cream absorbs really fast and it doesn't leave your hands greasy, actually it feels really matte (I'm not sure if I'm making any sense). However I didn't really like it mainly because of the floral scent.

Sample Attack Round II

It's really hard for me try out new samples, because if I find something that I like I'll just rush out and get them in full size, and since I'm on a "no buy", it's actually a torture, anyway, here's another list of samples that I've tried in the month of February:

Nuxe Refreshing and Relaxing Cream Mask - HK$280 / 1.7oz
No. of trials: 1

This mask is very strongly scented (floral), and have given me the biggest irritation. I left it on for about 5 minutes and my face has started to itch, I've rinse it off and my skin was still red and itchy. I don't know what's happening, I used to love Nuxe's skin care products, but recently floral scented stuffs seems to be irritate my skin.

Methode Swiss Thermal Oxygen Overnight Eye Mask - HK$385 / 15ml
No. of trials: 5

I've been searching for an overnight eye mask for ages, and so far the only one that I've tried is O' slee Dark Circle Reducing Sleeping Mask, and I've really liked it. I was really excited to try this out when the sales lady gave it to me, but was very disappointed with the product.

This product comes out like a gel with some tiny bits of blue particles that disappears once you massage it, when you start massaging, those blue particles will warm up, but after leaving it overnight, I did not notice any improvement on my undereye area, it didn't even look hydrated.

L'oreal Revita Lift Anti-Wrinkle + Firming Cream Night Cream - HK$159 / 50ml
No. of trials: 3

Amongst all these samples that I've tried, this is the only one that I'm unsure about, this cream has a very thick texture that I'm not a huge fan, but whenever I use this cream I always wake up with better skin, I'm not sure what has been improved, but I just look better. I think I'll use this a few more times to decide if I want to get it in full size.

Ultima II Cellular Re-New Eye Cream - HK$500 / 15ml
No. of Trials: 2 weeks

This was a decent eye cream, it was rich and hydrated without causing any milia, will definetly get this in full size.

Sample Attack

I've never paid much attention to the samples that I got from purchase, but recently they've grown so much that there was no way I could ignore them (I'm running out of storage), and since they're mostly tiny little bottles, I though I'll just write a combine review article.

ROC Hydra+ Bio Active Anti Oxidant Bio-Moisturizing Cream SPF15 - Dry Skin
This usually retails for HK$200 / 40ml, and the sample has lasted me 5 application, but it was enough for me to decide that I did not like it. It is a very thick cream that feels heavy on the skin, but not moisturizing at all, and I don't even have dry skin.

L'oreal Derma Genesis Cellular-Youth Creator Essence Concentrate
This usually retails for HK$199 / 50ml, and the sample has lasted me 8 application. I was really surprise with this product, because it was super hydrating. I had this with me in Korea, and I've noticed immediate hydration after applying it. Will definetly consider getting a full size.

NUXE Honey Face & Body Ultra-Rich Cleansing Gel
This usually retails for HK$208 / 400ml, and the sample has lasted me 6 application. This is a very mild cleanser that won't dry out your skin, great for the winter, but personally I prefer stronger cleanser.

Organix Moroccan Argan Oil Shampoo
This usually retails for HK$98 / 385 ml, and the sample has lasted me 8 applciation. I love this shampoo, it smells great and it left my hair very soft, will definetly get this in full size.

 小曼家族Sugar Super Moisture Shower Gel
This is just a shower gel that I found nothing to rave about

Curel Daily Moisture Original Lotion for Dry Skin
Another sample that I've really like and will definetly get it in full size, this is a hydrating cream that once you massage into your skin it will turn watery and gets absorbs instantly.

Clean & Clear Morning Burst Facial Scrub
This scrub has only got a few beads, and it makes me wonder how is it going to exfoliate my skin. I've been using it as a facial wash, but I don't think I'll be repurchasing.
